We made a quick trip overnight for my wife's graduation from UCA. The hotel is well kept and the staff was friendly when we arrived. I travel around 300 nights per year. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of multiple restaurants and Wal Mart. The problems I had while staying at this location was the breakfast quality was not good when we went to eat the next morning. We went to eat well before the time for the food to be put away and the quality seemed to not be very fresh. The biggest issue I had came from a desk clerk who called me prior to my arrival to tell me I would be charged $30 something dollars because the hotel was booked full and I was using a reward night to stay. I explained to him that I regularly stay on reward nights and IHG covers the cost of the room and I am only responsible for incidentals if necessary. I also explained that I booked the room well in advance and should not be penalized because the hotel later sold out. He told me had the hotel not been full I wouldn't be charged and that it was his managers decision. I asked to speak to the manager and was told they were unavailable until the morning. After telling him I would not be paying and I would also let IHG know he called me back and said he made a mistake and I would now need to pay $2 instead. I still do not know what this charge was for and have never had to pay anything when staying on reward nights. I am not sure if this is a training issue or what but this employee lacked basic customer service. Everyone else I encountered while at my stay was great.
