Experienced another stellar stay at this location, but every visit brings worse breakfast choices. Cold eggs (the only eggs that seem to hold their warmth in the warming trays are scrambled; the faux omlets are rubbery and cold, and never taste like eggs), and very limited yogurt selections (you used to offer low fat varieties . . . not everyone wants full fat yogurt). Fresh fruit is also marginal, featuring over ripe bananas, only good for banana bread or baking, and small, very bruised apples. I'm grateful that McDonald's is just across the street, and a Tim Horton's not too far up the street, but on a very rainy, windy, cold day, leaving the property for breakfast is not a great use of my time.
Staff are exceptional, pleasant and welcoming and rooms are aways comfortable and clean. The addition of the make-up lights in the bathrooms are a vast upgrade from other locations, with minimal bathroom lighting. For that I thank you, but PLEASE, work on the breakfasts.

We made a reservation to celebrate a late Valentines Day. We wanted a place with a hot tub and a pool, so when booking we specifically asked if they had the hot tub. They confirmed they did but failed to tell us it was not working,.. barely warm. We did have a room with a jacuzzi tub but very little hot water when we woke up.. it was a quick shower. They did give us some money back for the jacuzzi suite since we were unable to use the tub. It is a beautiful hotel and the beds are great.

As a business professional that travels across Ontario bi-weekly and has started to use HIE and HI hotels to stay at, for the most part, I am very pleased. Yet here I am, checked into the HIE in Kingston. When I asked if there was bottled water, (because this was offered to me before as a Thank You for being a member), I was just told that your policy has changed that only Gold and Platinum Members receive complimentary water. I think it may be time to look at another hotel chain.
