My son and I came to McCall for a weekend ski trip. As one would think, a nice soak in the hot tub is always a big part of a ski trip. We came down to the hotel’s indoor pool and hot tub around 9:30pm after a long day of skiing. When we entered the pool area we discovered there was some type of group enjoying the facility. Unfortunately, the group consisted of 40-50 people with at least 20+ kids under the age of 12… It was unbelievable loud and “not” pleasant at all. However, we really wanted to sit in the hot tub for at least a short time. Well, after these kids started jumping in and doing “cannon balls”, playing football and under water hand stands – WE HAD ENOUGH. At that point we were disappointed, but understood – it happens. Then we left to head back to our room – no towels… Still not that upset. I did decide that I should go ahead and let the hotel front desk know that we were disappointed with our experience. There were 2 gentlemen working the front desk. I simply explained that it appeared there was a big party going on in the pool area and while those guests were having fun it was basically impossible for any other guests to enjoy the facility. The younger of the 2 employees sarcastically asked “what do you mean?” I can honest tell you “ANYONE” would have only had to walk into the facility for 1 second and would know the pool area was a train wreck. I tried to explain about the football, no towels, and cannonballs in the hot tub. Again, the younger guys said “well we are trying to take care of the towels” disregarding the rest of my issues as if I was making them up and it wasn’t a big deal.
I guess my biggest problem with the whole situation is that when we returned to our room – NOW EXTREMELY UPSET!!!, I then notice the “Hospitality Promise”. Frankly, I chuckled. As a small business owner I felt compelled to send you this note as I assume you would want your hotel better represented by your staff.
I am planning 3 more trips to McCall and based on my experience I will be trying one of your competitors…

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Furfener Clean, spacious, nice amenities
We stayed here for the ice festival 2014, and I was so happy with how CLEAN it seemed everywhere. Had a microwave and fridge which was handy, and nice to have continental breakfast to avoid the crowds at local restaurants. The only thing I would request is an oatmeal pot to round out the breakfast, then it would be perfect! Food was fresh and breakfast attendants smiling and sweet. Front desk guy was a little young and inexperienced I thought, I had to ask how to get to our room; usually that info is given as part of the welcome speech. The cafeteria was a nice place to sit and read during the evening. The workout room is great and the pool room beautiful and warm with a generously sized hot tub. There are wildlife trophies all over the lobby and in the pool room, so "heads up" if you are disturbed by that sort of thing. We were very happy with our stay and felt the value was good.
