We were traveling to Ontario for my wife's 30-year high school reunion and a business meeting and we didn't know where to stay. Since we would be staying for three nights we wanted to spoil ourselves just a little. Upon reading reviews we determined that the HIE in Ontario, OR would be our best option and so reserved a King, Executive Suite with sink, refrigerator, and a jacuzzi tub about a month before our arrival. Upon arriving we were told they had overbooked the room (STRIKE ONE) and they only had a double queen standard room on the 3rd floor (Rm. 305) and they could get us our correct room the next day. We were able to keep our perishables in their kitchen overnight. The following morning we went to the front desk about our new room. We were offered a new room that would be ready when we returned from Boise, Idaho later that afternoon. In the meantime they needed our room so we loaded our belongings, took them downstairs, stuffed everything into an overflow closet used for sodas and waters and headed to Boise (STRIKE TWO). Upon our return we were told that the room they were going to give to us on the 4th floor (Rm. 418) already had someone in it (STRIKE THREE) so they gave us a different room on the 3rd floor (Rm. 305) directly across the hall from the room we had stayed in the previous night (why did we take our bags downstairs?) When we went into Rm. 305 it was a double queen executive suite, not a King executive suite (STRIKE FOUR). Back downstairs I went (my wife stayed with the luggage). "Ooops, we're sorry" lets try Rm. 336". Rm 336 was a King executive suite, but it had no refrigerator (it had been taken out to replace a different broken refrigerator).....(STRIKE FIVE). Back downstairs I went (my wife stayed with the luggage) to let the front desk know we still needed the actual room we had paid for. The people at the desk didn't believe us so they sent a manager upstairs to verify that the room had no refrigerator...IT DIDN'T. "We'll give you the best room we have, Rm. 421. Lovely room, DOUBLE QUEEN, executive suite, sink, refrigerator and NO JACUZZI (Still not the room we had paid for (STRIKE SIX). Went to check out in the morning, bill under our door for almost $100 more than what we had already prepaid (STRIKE SEVEN). Went to front desk, they couldn't explain it, the man at the desk was able to correct the amount to what we had paid, but we never did get the room and the amenities we paid for. Still haven't heard back from the manager and it's been three days. I have never written a hotel review before, but this time I had to. Our experience was horrible and very disappointing and impacted our "little getaway" greatly. I could never recommend this HIE to anyone traveling through Ontario, OR and 2 out of 5 stars seems generous under the circumstances. On a bright note, however, the rooms were exceptionally clean and we told the room service people how much we appreciated them and all their hard work.

This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The staff was incredible, going out of their way to make us feel at home. The room was large, clean and very homey. The breakfast was very good. Don't miss the cinnamon rolls!
I highly recommend this hotel.

Wanted to change credit card used - front desk couldn't do it. Room had lounge area with TV that did not work. Front desk said they would be up to try and fix but never showed up. Carpets in halls and room seemed old and not really clean. Was not recognized as rewards club member.
