The University of Alabama (informally known as Alabama, UA, the Capstone, or Bama) is a public research university in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States. Established in 1820 and opened to students in 1831, the University of Alabama is the oldest and largest of the public universities in Alabama as well as the University of Alabama System. The University of Alabama varsity football team is nicknamed the Crimson Tide.

Rhoads Stadium also owns national attendance records in both the NCAA Regional and Super Regional rounds, with only Women's College World Series sessions at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City surpassing Rhoads Stadium's attendance marks.

Coleman Coliseum is a 15,383-seat multi-purpose arena in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on the campus of the University of Alabama. It is the current home of the Alabama Crimson Tide men's and women's basketball and women's gymnastics teams, and previously served as the home of the women's volleyball program. In addition to its primary duties as an athletic facility, the coliseum has on numerous occasions served as a venue for artistic performances, musical concerts, and presidential appearances.

The Bryant Conference Center is located in the heart of Tuscaloosa on The University of Alabama campus and is named for legendary, hall-of-fame coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The Paul W. Bryant Museum opened its doors to the public on October 8, 1988. The museum exhibits artifacts and memorabilia that trace the long history of University of Alabama football. State-of-the-art displays enhanced by videos highlighting great players, plays, and games are produced from the museum’s archives.

Lake Tuscaloosa is a reservoir in west-central Alabama, created by damming North River. Since it is located just north of Tuscaloosa and Northport, the lake is also very popular for recreational activities
